When It Becomes Unconditional…

From the old days, I have heard Romeo and Juliet being used ultimately to represent love in practicality. The truth from my end is; I have not us much studied their story as I have studied that of Christ from the scriptures, and I beg to differ but I didn’t see any resemblance among the two.

Personally, I have been through different shades,  forms, levels, faces and times of love. One thing is true,  the more you go through love the more you either love more or love less. It depends entirely on how you examine the issue.

The Bible clearly defines,  “God is love”. This pressupposes that Love must definitely be God. There are different stages of love that we go through but truth is, we have not really seen love unless we see it look exactly like God.

Why? Naturally, Love must be unconditional! Why do I say that? The answer is,  because God is definitely unconditional. If God is love,  then love must have qualities that make it look God. God is God,  whether He is worshipped or not,  whether he is respected or not,  insulted or not,  despised or not, wanted or not, whatever you do to God doesn’t change His personality as God. So the same must apply to love.

So God loved us and gave His Only Son. Great! Isn’t it? Now let’s analyse God’s actions. God so love the world; which means that God loved the place where sin abound even though in His nature He knows no sin and sin cannot dwell in His presence. So God loved something that was not in the shape he was compatible with.

Because God so loved the world,  He gave His only son. So God also decided to be the one to help the brides situation with His own resources. He wanted that bride so bad,  He couldn’t choose another. He had to make the bride suite His nature.

He sent His Son to come and die. In other words, God gave something He didn’t expect the bride to cherish or protect. He understood the ignorant state of the bride for Love’s sake.

Since God knows the end from the beginning,  I suppose He also knew that not everyone will accept his Son,  and not all who accepted will keep him till the end. God knew, but He didn’t blink anyway, He sent the son. From looking at the way as Christians, we still sin freely, I realize something about God,  that He is Love in practicality.

When it comes to human beings,  we see a different mode of operation. Men are afraid to love each other,  too careful not to be hurt by anybody and too careful not to be rejected. We don’t see that in God. God knew the consequences first-hand,  but He still went in anyway.

When people begin to offend us,  when they repeat their offences, we grow impatient and indifferent, more of self-righteousness. We tend to make them pay for their offences even when they apologize. We hide behind the fact that they keep doing what they’re doing. Have you considered the things God doesn’t like that you do,  and the fact that you keep on doing and regreting and still doing it anyway?

The thin line is this; until a man can become very selflessly loving, He cannot be like God. God is selfless whenever He’s loving the world. The bible declares that we love Him because He first loved us. How did we know He loved us?  Because He made clear His feelings. I’ve met people who don’t care about others,  when you ask them, they go like,  “he also doesn’t care about me” or “she hasn’t also smiled to me before”. We want the “others” to take the initiative of loving.

If you keep your eyes on the effect of Jesus on your life,  it won’t be difficult to be an unconditional lover. Why? Because though Christ loved you,  died for you,  and intercedes for you every moment, he has never given up on you when you sin. Whenever you say sorry,  He forgives you. Have you thought of it before?

Unforgiveness is a symptom of Conditional love,  which is no love at all. Because there’s no such thing as Conditional God. You love people without Conditions,  you decide to practice it with conditions but the fire that burns in you, burns no matter what.

In Galatians 5:22-23, we understand that there is no law against love. Things means that you can fall love anyone and everyone Just like God who so loved the world. But you must be willing to give your only begotten son. That is your investment.

One last thing! When God gave His only begotten son,  he was conscious of the fact that not everyone will believe in His son. Sometimes,  you are afraid to love because you feel they might not feel the same about you. You must love anyway,  because when they don’t love,  they’ll perish and not you.

God loves without boundaries. I believe that most of the things we enjoy in the Church now,  and there are a lot of other Church folks criticizing those things, the reason that is still happening is because God is loving without constraints.

All men have not Faith. Faith is when your love is acting. Not all men can act the script their love have written because of the mindsets they possess. Love them anyway. Love men,  love them in all things.

“God Does not Approve of Technology”

There was this one time I recall a meeting we had,  and at this meeting I was amazed the sort of things being spoken of and the things mentioned. At the meeting, we were, or should I say they were; because I felt not belonging to the group at that very moment, so they were discussing things about “quiet time”. There were very serious and mind buggling concerns people raised and I felt like I was literally being killed. At a point a lady said, “You don’t have to use electronic bibles for quiet time, ” she continued, “I don’t feel the power and the spirit in the word when I read the electronic bible,  unless I read from a real Bible”

There are many people that for some reasons feel very uncomfortable about using electronic means in things relating to God and Worship. Once,  a daughter told me I should stop using whatsApp and that it’s not good. She had no smartphone by then. Shortly after she had a smartphone,  she was on whatsapp herself. I questioned her about it and there was nothing to tell me.

There are people that speak very ill about media and technology. Most of these individuals are having their own perceptions about what they feel will be the best for God,  looking at His dwelling place being devoid of electronics.

Exodus  24:4 And Moses wrote all the words of the LORD, and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar under the hill, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel.
The Bible said that,  Moses wrote all the words of the Lord. This happened after the Ten Commandments had been given and Moses wanted a good memory of it to be kept so he wrote them down on something. He also wanted them to be read by everyone or anyone who came across it.

Now God was very much aware that Moses had written down all the laws, but He did something we need to consider here.

Exodus  24:12 And the LORD said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them.
From verse 4 to verse 12, God realised that He wanted something better than what was written by Moses. The term ‘tables of stone’ is the same as tablets. Now,  I know very much that the reason why most people feel it is not appropriate to serve God effectively using electronic gadgets is because unbelievers also use electronic gadgets for their activities.

In the time that God was writing on tablets,  most of the civilizations around the world at that time had writings on stones. God was not complaining about using the same medium the world was using.

Now the Lord said, He will give Moses tablets on which He had written the law,  that Moses will be able to teach the people. So God wanted to make it easier for Moses’ teaching Ministry. These days,  people criticise virtually everything a christian or man of God does. But God was concerned about how Moses was going to do the teaching.

Now,  in those times,  tablets were current technology,  and it was made of stones then. Today,  tablets are still existing,  and are current technology, made of silicon and plastics. Do you think God has a problem?

God upgrades communication mediums, maybe you haven’t checked, but God did a recent update we are benefiting from.

Hebrews  1:1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,  1:2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
So God has upgraded His communication systems,  you think He has a problem with you upgrading yours? The reason why we have to use the same mediums the world use is because if the world is using those mediums and God wanted us to touch the world,  how would we do that through other mediums which the world will not be found through.

God at Sundry times,  spoke to us in divers manners. Divers manners means he had used different modes and mediums of communication. God understands that communication is not complete until the receiver can decode the message. Imagine speaking in your native language at a crusade in another country were no one understands your native language.

We need to spread the Gospel through these mediums,  spill it everywhere. Make sure people read them. There are people that complain when Pastors or Ministers try to use electronic and social Media to communicate the Gospel. God has no problem with that,  if it is done exactly the way the Gospel needs to be preached.

Daniel  5:5 In the same hour came forth fingers of a man’s hand, and wrote over against the candlestick upon the plaister of the wall of the king’s palace: and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote.
In the verse above,  God wrote on the wall of the King, and the bible said,  the king saw the writing as it was being written. At that moment,  the only way the king would have seen what God wanted to write was if God wrote on the wall, because the king was facing his wall.

If people are looking unto their phones,  reading stuffs on their Facebook walls,  and other walls. It will be a waste of time trying to communicate to those people using another medium other than the wall. So make sure your Facebook wall is speaking the mind of God. God wrote using the hand of a man,  that is because, he doesn’t use whatsapp,  Facebook, twitter and the likes,  but you do and He wants to communicate with someone who is looking at your wall at the moment….

The Force-field of Faith

I have come across many people in life, who had very differing perspectives on the reality of Faith. While some feel that faith is a nuisance, others feel faith is fiction,  a great number allow faith to rule their life but not entirely and only few have embraced the wholeness of Faith.

Daily, we see and hear advices against the operation of Faith. Some can tell you to not think Faith can do everything and others will also tell you to use faith wisely. Faith; everyone seems to have their own schools of thought on this very subject.

The force field of Faith, it is what I call the scope of influence of one’s Faith. When an individual exercises his or her Faith,  the extent to which he or she believes that his or her Faith will get to,  that is the force field.

The force field is determined by the individual exercising the faith. When a man exercises his Faith it differs from another man doing same. This is because everyone has a different scope they expect to influence. The reason why Benny Hinn will minister and people will get healed in other countries through electronic media is because he believes the will.

Hebrews  11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
The above tells us that,  if we get to understand what faith really is,  we will understand how possible it was for God to call the worlds into existence. Because everything that is visible was created by something that is not visible. The Word spoken is the invisible thing here.

Some people believe God for very reasonable things,  like God protecting them in life and God being there for them. They don’t see God making way where there seems to be no way.

Someone recently told me,  “no matter the faith you have as a man of God,  you can’t run into a wall and say you have faith”. Maybe some while ago,  I would have accepted this as a universal truth,  but I think that’s the individuals personal Truth.  The person’s force field doesn’t transcend a wall.

I saw in the scriptures, Jesus said if you have the faith as tiny as a mustard seed,  it can move an entire mountain,  Jesus in the tomb,  when Mary was worried about the stone to be rolled,  they went there to meet a rolled stone. Peter in prison and An Angel steps in there and gates are open. I believe that nothing is beyond the reach of faith,  it only depends of the carrier of the faith.

People argue that is not wise to exercise faith without wisdom. Well,  I could have agreed until I found out that “God calls the things that be not as though they were”. God isn’t a mad man! He’s not living in fantasies. Jesus crosses borders without money and when the need arises,  he calls a fish for money. Jesus sends out his disciples and instructs them not to carry provision for their needs,  you tell me not to run into a wall because faith doesn’t cover that?  Well if Jesus thought faith could feed and provide for the disciples throughout their journey,  so do I.
The reason why we haven’t any weird miracle is because we haven’t met any weird person around. “Wise” people will tell us not to move into trouble because we think we have faith. Firstly,  point of correction;  we don’t ‘think’ we have faith, we have Faith! Secondly,  faith functions best when there is trouble!

I’m looking at the Prophet Elisha and his servant realises they’re ambushed by a fleet of soldiers.  He concludes they are done for,  because he is being logical. Logic tells us 2 against a 1000 is called outnumbered. Faith calls that ‘more on our side than on their side’. The prophet was able to make thousands blind by his word! You think faith has a barrier? Think again!

Elijah is not rich, he speaks to a rich king Ahab about an incoming rain. Ahab sets off for the city on a chariot,  Elijah has no scooter not to talk of a chariot. Elijah begins to run and overtakes a chariot that probably has at least to horses carrying it. Faith is faith. The God kind of faith.

If God can form the world through Faith, then faith can deform anything in the world and form things in the world too. The only limit that faith has is love,  if you have no love in what you’re commanding your faith to do,  it won’t be effective.

Believe in God,  understand that he can reach that far. God can do everything. He can come down and die for your sake and he can do any other thing you can think about. Philip the deacon can disappear and reappear,  that’s the work of faith. Faith is when you know that God is able to create something at anytime without having raw materials.

God – Contended?

The world may well have accepted that there is something beyond science. But not every believes that there is only one person in charge of everything. Looking at the movies created everytime, we realise the projection of a mentality that there are several powers beyond man, that are competing among themselves for supremacy.

If we consume such assumptions, we begin to feel that God is in a similar situation. And that is not true!

The bible says something very profound about whether or not there is competition or comparison in the realm of the supernatural. Let’s find out from Jesus’ words;

‘And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone.’

MARK 10:18 ESV

In the text above,  we see the use of the word ‘Good’ as a description for who God is. The use of the word good implies that God being the supreme ruler,  has no competitors or legible comparison.

If God was being compared to other powers,  then He would have been referred to as the best. But because He has no competition around Him and no one is legible enough to contend with Him for His position.

God is God. There is no tornament that will put His position up for grabs. No election,  no system of rulership can provide room for others to compete with God on anything.

God created everything. He cannot fight His creation because it wouldn’t be called a fight. He would rather create other beings to fight rebellious ones.

Because there is no room for the devil to challenge God,  he challenges God’s creation. We are God’s creation. And fortunate to us but unfortunate to the devil, we are dear to His heart than anything. This makes the devil furious and that’s why he keeps trying to get us off the mind of God.

Over the years he has tried to get us off the mind of God,  but he has never succeeded. This is the reason the Angels asked God,  “who is man,  that you’re so mindful of him”.

Now the devil figured a way to win the battle. If we sinned and God still loves us,  and no amount of dirt he put on us made God stop thinking about us. Then he is now working on getting God off our minds.

We need to protect our minds,  and fight the good fight of Faith…

‘Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;’

2 Corinthians 10:5 KJV

The devil will do everything to make you think otherwise on God. He will break your marriage,  he will destroy your life,  move you into poverty,  and frustrate everything around you. But remember,  those are not what exactly he wants,  he wants your mind of God.

Love – from Feeling to Decision.

There is a great misunderstanding in the field of love these days. Many are confused how to handle what they call love. While some hoard the feeling, others advertise it and yet there are some who smuggle the entire thing called love.

In this post,  my aim is to, by scripture,  let us know the need for maturity in love. Love as a relationship between yourself and God,  then between yourself and your partner.

Love is a feeling, no doubt about that. But there is a duration for the feeling. Because feelings are generated and cannot be consistent over time. Because we generate love, love can also be degenerated. It is very easy to say,  “I don’t love you anymore”  because the feeling you have for that individual has degenerated.

But for two people to stay together, there is a time that Love ceases to be a feeling and moves into another realm called DECISION. In the realm of decision,  you love people no matter what may happen. Because during the time of feeling, it is like a window shopping, and during that window shopping you must have really been certain about the product enough to make a decision to purchase it. If you do not purchase the product, another person will. This same thing applies to love, the feeling of love allows you to pay attention to an individual or a particular person. During that period, you’re trying to get convinced to make a decision for that person, a life-long decision for that matter.

Now,  because every relationship has two parties in it, sometimes one person will be ready to make a decision before the other person. Because love is about moving from the realm of feeling into the realm of decision, if one party stays behind, it does not stay in feeling but rather in a realm of indecision.

The realm of indecision is a hard place to find yourself. Because,  being indecisive is coupled with insecurity and confusion. The longer you stay in this realm,  the longer you’ll remain there.

“For though by this time you ought to be teachers [because of the time you have had to learn these truths], you actually need someone to teach you again the elementary principles of God’s word [from the beginning], and you have come to be continually in need of milk, not solid food. For everyone who lives on milk is [doctrinally inexperienced and] unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a spiritual infant. But solid food is for the [spiritually] mature, whose senses are trained by practice to distinguish between what is morally good and what is evil.”

HEB 5:12‭-‬14 AMP

“Because of the time you’ve had to learn these truths”, that’s a profound statement. There is a time given to learn truths. When you want to know whether you want to spend a lifetime with someone, there is a time you must be very conversant with certain truths about this person. Because during that same time,  the person is also convincing him/herself. In this period, what keeps two of you together is the feeling.
The moment the time of feeling is elapsed, the decision should be boldly sitting in both parties. If not, then one needs to really work on making a decision as soon as possible. Because the juice for the decision is embedded in the feeling realm and if you leave that realm without a decision,  you end up in the realm of indecision.

So the bible verse up there tells us that,  we must make an effort to mature,  because there is a time frame for which we should become matured in whatever we are doing. There are believers who have been in church for 17 years and they still cry over affliction. At 17 years in Christ,  you should rather be consoling other young ones. So there is a time frame for maturity and it exists in love too.

At a point,  you must know that your partner still loves you though he hasn’t bought you a birthday gift yet, you must know that your partner adores you though she hasn’t called you yet. At the realm of feeling,  we do these things because of the force of feeling,  when the feeling wears off,  you might not see a lot of calls,  gifts, I love yous,  and all that. But you must make a decision, that all this while you’ve known this individual, you know he/she loves you and no matter what,  you love them back!

For some time now, the sense of “having it all” in life has grown enormous and has become the major theme of the life of many Christians. The desire for earthly possession has crept the minds of Christians, making them forget that they do not belong here on earth.
The bible tells us about how we are not part of the world. We no longer obey the Lord neither do we fear Him because we have built friendship with the world and we have established it among our heart desires. But Peter helps us to “remember that the heavenly Father to whom we pray has no favorites. He will judge or reward us according to what you do. So you must live in reverent fear of Him during your time as foreigners in the land.” – 1 Peter 1:17. These are the very words of God and He will like to have His people living as foreigners. Today the partition between Christians and inhabitants of the world has become so blur that it is barely possible to possible to distinguish between the two.
The call to holy living is the call of God. For this particular reason Jesus came to die to give us a fresh start, starting with Holiness and enduring with Holiness. Christians are proving the purpose of Christ’s death to be useless. We accept him as Lord and Savior yet we continue in sin and even into deeper sin. This is exactly what Paul talked about when he wrote to the Philippians, “for I have told you often before, and I say it again with tears in my eyes, that there are many whose conducts shows they are really enemies of the cross of Christ. They are headed for destruction. Their god is their appetite, they brag about shameful things, and they think about life here on earth. But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our savior.” – Philippians 3:18-20. Scripture never expires, that is why these words still apply to even more people now in these last days. We yearn more for worldly belongings rather than living a life that is holy and acceptable unto God. Premarital sex, improper sexual relations (gay, bestiality, oral sex, e.t.c), theft, murder, lies, vanity, etc, these are some of the things that earthly people do and now Christians inclusively; making the distinction very unstable and unrecognizable.
The main purpose of these warnings, is to help us escape the strong grip of the world, this is so because, when the world has an individual in its hands, it is very difficult to redraw and the most deadly; very difficult to realize that you have changed let alone coming back. The world rules you once you give in to it and when you hear the word of God, you think of it as foolishness because there is a new ruler in your life. And that ruler of your “messed up” life wages war against your old self. For this reason it is wise to take advice rather than suffering from this, you have been warned ahead of time!
“Dear friends, I warn you as ‘temporary residents and foreigners’ to keep away from worldly desires that wage war against your souls.” – 1 Peter 2:11
The point of this warning is not to say that one is not allowed to live a normal life here on earth but rather to keep you from being attached to the things of this land because we will leave these things behind. Those who become attached will be left behind as well because it is impossible to separate them and it is also impossible for the earthly belongings to enter the kingdom of heaven. Be very careful about your interactions with the things you find here on earth – some are so attached that a girl cannot do away with her short skirts, a man cannot do away with his wealth, besides they mean life to him, the youth cannot do away with sex, drugs, disrespect, indecent dressing, and others alike. This is the sign of “I like to be left behind”, because these very things don’t belong in heaven and since it is impossible to do without it, then you will have to stay with it.
“Those who use the things of the world should not become attached to them. For this world as we all know it will soon pass away.” – 1 Corinthians 7:31.
For others, the feeling of being accepted among friends and groups is all they rely on. This feeling is not from God but rather from the world and if you feel this way, you will become part of it. If you don’t control your feelings because you choose which side you are on either the world or that of Jesus Christ, there is no middle ground.
“If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first. The world would love you as one of its own if you belong to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you.” – John 15:18 and 19.
May the Lord bless you after you this reading and give you strength for your daily living. Develop a strong devotion to the will of God and attachment to the Spirit of Truth. I leave you with this: “Lord remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered, and that my life is fleeing away” – Psalm 39:4.

Man is not to bow down to or worship anyone or anything but God alone. No image, no icon, nothing! Do not worship the one whom the image represents. This is idolatry. Maybe one is worshiping statues in a church but does not recognize that these are in effect idols. That is sin. Read what Exodus 20: 3 – 5 says.

“Thou shalt have no other gods before Me.”
“Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:”
“Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them:…” (Ex. 20: 3 – 5)

Here are some other verses that deal with idol worship. This includes bowing down before the image who is in the likeness of some one or some thing.

“Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female,” (Deut. 4: 16) (Read also Deut. 4: 17 – 19.).

“Take heed unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of the Lord your God, which He made with you, and make you a graven image or the likeness of any thing, which the Lord thy God hath (has) forbidden thee.” (Deut. 4: 23) (See also Deut. 4: 24 – 25, 5: 8 – 9.). (This would include pictures, so forth.).

By the way, prayer is to God alone. it is a part of worship. The question should not be: Where in the Bible does it say it is wrong to pray to (or talk to) someone else such as Mary or other saints who have died? But instead, the question should be: Where in the Bible does it say it is all right to pray to (or talk to) or worship anything or anyone but God alone?

It is wrong to pray to, and bow down to (worship), angels. That is idolatry. John, who wrote the book of Revelation, made this mistake, and he was reprimanded for doing that. John was so overwhelmed with what he saw that he forgot that it was wrong to bow down to (worship) the angel (Rev. 19: 10, 22: 8 – 9). We are not to worship anyone but God.

“And I (John) fell at his feet to worship him (the angel). And he (the angel) said unto me (John), See thou do it not: I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” (Rev. 19: 10) (Read also Rev. 22: 9.).

Cornelius made the mistake of worshiping the wrong one in Acts 10: 25 – 26. We are not to bow down to (worship) any saints, dead or live.

“And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshiped him.” (Acts 10: 25)

“But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.” (Acts 10: 26) (Read also Acts 3: 12.).

You are not to bow down to anyone or anything, even if you are doing it out of respect, in reverence, or in honor of one. Praying to saints, such as Peter, Mary, or anyone for that matter, who has died, is idolatry. This includes talking (speaking) to them. We are not to pray to (or talk to) any living saint, who is not present, either. This too is idolatry.

So, are you going to reject what the Scripture says and teaches? Or are you going to deny God’s Word and explain it away. The choice is yours.
